Arriving and departing

While my sister is saying goodbye to the wonderful NYC, I'll be heading to our hometown Cali! The flight was good and in no time (3hours 40minutes). I'm where it feels as though a blazing summer is occurring, but furtunately a light breeze comes from the mountain and its feels marvelous. Every time I'm visiting- which is often because my boyfriend lives here- it feels right, somehow our roots make that happen I guess.

The sunset was our companion for most of the flight
And I love waking up to this view!
One of the things that I truly miss are the mountains, and all the green that comes with it. I'm blessed to be here and be able to find it everywhere I look! I'll keep you posted on my adventures while in Cali; my boyfriend's birthday is tomorrow; I have a few appointments with some really cool artists; in my schedule there is always time to eat delicious food; travel around the city and its outskirts; and then comes Valentine's day- one of my favorite celebrations!

Have a happy Wednesday!

will travel for inspiration

I've been reminiscing on my last trip to Japan. It was so inspiring and extraordinary. It felt as though I belonged there at that moment in time because it truly changed my life. I know we have all read this 'about someone that went somewhere', but I'm telling you I'm not the same person. Tokyo and Kyoto changed the way I look at things, the colors, the lines...the manners, the prudence, the consideration. I can't wait to go back, I dream of it, wish it!!!

It was 3 years ago when I met the loveliest daibutsu!
Kiyumisu-dera in Kyoto...breathtaking!
Here I saw one of the greatest exhibitions, I still remember the color of everything!
The fabrics! The patterns! The silhouettes! and the contrasts were out of this world.
The food deserves a post in itself, to tell you the least I was in sushi heaven! Isn't it wonderful to be able to go back to all these places just by looking at photographs? Tiny things instantly bring back bigger memories. And a lot has happened in between, not only with the places but certainly with the person. Is there a place you're longing to go to? Go back to?

Have a good day!
Giannina.

ps: I'm getting ready to go to Colombia. Can't wait to eat the best fruits and the most delicious food! So stay tuned.

London traveler

So I made it to London! While the tube tends to be really great to get around on time…the bus is quite perfect because you get to see everything! Combined with walking it tends to be the best choice! And London is great for doing so, specially with the Thames river walkway. I met with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while and thankfully they were fine walking- we went from Victoria Station all the way to the Tate Museum, went through and stopped to take pictures at Westminster>The Big Ben> across from the London eye and the Aquarium> a lot of Bridges (the beautiful and not so meaningful)> Shakespeare’s Theatre> St. Paul’s Cathedral and our last stop the Tate.
We managed to do some more walking on another day and went to the other places that are not close to the river like the Buckingham Palace> St. James Park> Trafalgar Square> Covent Garden and the many places in between. And of course finding the time to squeeze in some great stores like Liberty which I was introduced to by my beautiful sister!!!
Don't let the gray skies shy you away from such a wonderful city!
Next stop...Amsterdam!!! and then we (as in my sister and me) we will only be a very short bunting away!

See you soon!
Giannina.
