Surprise Packages

It has been a while since I last posted about one of my favorite things; packages. This time I just couldn't pass the opportunity to show you what arrived at my door.

Remember a week or so that I showed you the heart I was making? It was for a swap that I was doing with the very inspiring and talented Mary Stanley.

I've been wanting a rug hooked heart for such a long time, to add to my heart collection. I was very nervous with mine, as I had never made a heart before, but it seemed like a good thing to make. A heart for a heart. I hope she likes mine as much as I did hers. I actually did a little dance when these arrived!

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw when these arrived. My friend Ute Veya had made the loveliest package. I was so in love with everything that I needed to show it to you as well.

This "mini autumn memory bunting," as she called it, is just perfect, don't you agree?

I love surprise packages, I've said this many times before. But there is one thing that I love the most; the love and dedication that goes into a handmade piece and especially when it has been made just for you, is just... WOW!

Did I get that right? Sometimes the english language just doesn't cooperate with me.

Surprise Package

Usually my sister will be the one sharing about the very cool packages she receives, being that is one of her favorite things and the fact that she is very active in sending (and receiving), I on the other hand am not that active (forgive me Giova) but nonetheless get super excited when I receive surprise packages and lovely mail. Yesterday was my lucky day because not only did I get mail from my sister; I got a very special package from my friend Tess.

Isn't this a beautiful bunting? I had never seen one so unique. My friend's aunt made it! Now I think I need to meet her!

The ribbon is vintage from an antique store in Michigan, so so lovely! And my Barbie card...and the very cool 'matrioskas' tape on the envelope. Thank you so much Tess, you truly brought a smile to my heart!

As always, my sister's package (thank you, merci, gracias Giova) came in a lovely envelope and with two very cool postcards: 'Cat with fish on its mind' by Jane Ormes and the 'Guardians of the macaron' by Kate Wilson.

Surprise Package

Last week I wrote to a blogging friend to ask her about the camera straps she makes. I wanted to buy one from her as my trip for Alt Summit is approaching rather quickly. My camera needed to look especially nice and what can be better than when someone you know makes really beautiful things.
She immediately replied saying that she had a package coming my way, as a thank you for a post I made for her. WOW! Serendipity? Synchronicity? I say, Yayyy!
Jillian: Thank you so much, for such cool, colorful and very useful goodies. I'm going to send you a thank you package for this one!!

And I got two camera straps, which one do you think I'll take to Alt??

A Christmas Gift

As you've read before, I love packages. Unexpected ones are even better. And when you can see the love and dedication someone has put into it, well that is just a perfect package isn't it? Add to this, handmade just for me, and well, you can see for yourself!
My pen pal and blog friend Puk sent me such a package for Christmas (and I couldn't wait until Christmas to open it). Thank you so much Puk, for such a delightful package!

Surprise Packages #3

I'm beyond happy when I open my mailbox and find cool things just for me! While I was away some unexpected packages (and one that I was actually expecting) were waiting for me.

Thank you so much Judith for sharing the dots with me (I never got the chance to get a hold on them), and those transport vehicles are beyond cool!

Thank you Sara for sharing with me your wonderful book! My son already took a look inside the book and wants me to make somethings for him. It is a very beautiful and inspiring book!
If any of you guys out there have kids (even if you don't understand swedish) and are in need of inspiration for very creative things to do with and for them, you can find the book here!

And finally this package from Japan which I ordered. Opening it feels like someone actually sent you a present.  I follow her blog and of course now and then I jump over to her online store. When you love all things Japanese and crafts and stationery...well, what more can I say? Did you notice a bird theme going on? I must be missing my grandfather. Make that, terribly missing!!!

Surprise Packages!

Sometimes weeks or even months go by before anything amazing drops on my mailbox. Sometimes, very unusually they arrive the same week!
I love snail mail. I love it since... I can't even remember! I love everything that comes with a written letter, a post card, and well, when someone takes the time to send a package with such love and attention, then I'm left as if someone had given me the greatest hug of all.

Thank you Puk for such a wonderful surprise, you have left me with my mouth wide open! Everything was simply beautiful and perfect!

Thank you Mami for my pot holders (now I have 3 instead of zero!!), and just in time for Thanksgiving!
Have you received any wonderful packages (or even nice letters) lately?? Isn't it a wonderful feeling when you open the mailbox and in it lies a very peculiar sort of envelope that you immediately know, this is not a bill?

Arriving Early - Care packages

It could happen: Arriving early at a party (not in my experience), flights that arrive before their scheduled time  (rarely happens), babies that decide, "Hey let's surprise these people!"(happened once out of the two), a "couple" of white hairs that make a sudden appearance (did happen, still happens), or a much welcome early spring or summer. This list could go on with things that would be nice to see arriving early or that could've waited a bit longer to arrive. Here is one of my favorite things to get and appreciate when it arrives earlier rather than later; PACKAGES!! So this week not only did I receive one, but two very lovely packages from the two thoughtful and wonderful ladies in my life!!!
