In a nut shell (a very small one).

Summer came and went. How and where?? I've no clue! It seems to me it went by in a haze of stitches, birthdays, a new pet, a short trip to the other side of the pond, another closer to home and much wandering, and plotting.

This year we couldn't go on our traditional road trip, so we got a pet. How's that for planning? What really happened is that we finally succumbed to our little one's demands for a kitty. It seemed like the perfect time to get a pet (we have been postponing this for 12 years or so).

We feel absolutely delighted and blessed to have her in our lives. I'm  astonished to the hours she keeps, she loves sleeping on top of my fabrics (my precious indigo), and loves all things related to keeping you distracted to what you're supposed to do. Oh! And my phone is filled with pictures of her...

Spending two wonderful weeks with my mother and sister (and my little one who travelled with me), was simply the best therapy one could hope to get if one needed therapy ;) I'm feeling energized (except for the part where jet lag was involved), full to the brim with vitamin D and ready to stitch well into winter (providing the cat lets me).

So far so good!

Wishing you all the best, and a lovely crisp and gorgeous autumn, or spring if you're on the other side.
Giova (the most inconstant blogger there is).

    1. Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the bladder. It is my 7th year without it, and I actually do find myself missing it on countless occasions. I thought I Liberty one was just the perfect way to commemorate my missing organ ;)

    1. Thank you so much! The sense of happy came from an Asian pencil case that was given to me on my birthday. I just love this weird/wonderful translations. Oh, the fluffy paws, don't get me started on them. I could write odes to them!

  4. Dear Giova, Congratulations on the new addition to your family, a precious kitty...
What is her name? After a few years of not having the company of a feline, I purchased a feral female kitten. Here, on Vancouver Island, there are a number of feral cat rescue organizations that trap/neuter or spay these lovely creatures and keep the kittens until they are big enough to spay or neuter. My little wild one's name is Daisy Mae-ble. She has lived with me for just over 3 weeks and yesterday she allowed me to touch her...she is still very wild but is slowly coming around to living with a human...bless her wee heart.

  5. Hi Giova- I stumbled upon your blog after googling craft supplies in Amsterdam. I live in Vancouver, Canada and I am going to Amsterdam at the end of October with my parents and Oma. I am a bit of a "crazy crafter diy'er". Is there any way you would be interested in an in person craft (either completed or supplies) swap? Current hobby is cross stitch and making my own soap/body stuff. Let me know! Email is meghan_maclean@hotmail.com - would even be interested in doing it with a few people. It would be interesting to see what is interesting and crafty from both sides of the world!

  7. Well, hi Giova! I came across your blog because I googled "bunting" (since I always look for new ideas to come up with new photography props). What a cute cat you have!! I wish I would be more crafty though, because it definitely would save me more money! Haha! Beautiful stitching!
