Resolutions, Wishes or Plans?

res.o.lu.tion:

  1. The state or quality of being resolute
  2. A resolving to do something
  3. A course of action determined or decided on
My one and only resolution: I will cut down on my magazine habit. I will not buy as many magazines, as before. This is going to be a tough one I know.

I've never been one to do a list of resolutions simply because I was never able to keep up. As soon as the first week was gone, the list was basically over.

Instead I like to fill a page of one of my notebooks, with things that I would like to see happen. I love any excuse for a list, and this is one of my favorites of the year. I always like reading the list from the previous year  and realize that most of the things I wrote, did came true!

My wish list for 2014 looks something like this; I call it the "selfish list."

The Dave Matthews part has found itself many times on a list, and it still hasn't come true! But I'm sure one day it will, and until then it will find its way on to my list.

I would also like to take this class, go back here, and maybe here, or somewhere here!!

How about you?? Are you a list or resolution maker? Do you stick to the plan??

Wishing you a great start of the year. May you find the energy to accomplish everything that you set your mind and heart to do!!
Giova.

    1. You better write them in case you forget, haha!! Then you can actually look back and see what became true and what didn't!

  4. Happy New Year, Gio!
I was never really into resolutions either. But this year I have an idea for the goals I want to achieve. I like the idea of a wish list too... things that are nice to do, but if I don't get to do them, I won't kill myself haha.
I've never read Jane Austen, can you believe it? As for poems, have you read the poetry of Octavio Paz? That should get you started with one item on your wish list, at least ;)

    1. Happy New year to you too!!
The only book I've read of Octavio Paz is In light of India, not poetry, but will check it out soon. Thanks for recommending it!
Sure I can believe it about Jane Austen, the bug only bit me a few months ago, plenty of years with out it. ;)
