I'm really excited because tomorrow I'll be going to my first quilting class. It is one of those crafts that needs to get out of my system ever since I made a quilted pot holder in 5th grade. That was the beginning and end of my quilting adventure until now.

Some book inspiration I got from Amazon, definitely not books for beginners. |
|
Both my big and little scissors needed pouches, so quilting some seemed like a good idea because they're coming with me to the classes. |
|
Front and back views, just so you can see my expertise, mastery at doing this sort of thing. |
While in grad school someone introduced me to the quilts of
Gee's Bend. That is something that never left my mind. They were to me back then and still now, the most beautiful quilts I have ever seen. I only hope that one day I'll make one that closely resembles any of those magnificent quilts.
Happy Monday! Mine is already quite happy with anticipation!

Such lovely fabrics! Look forward to see what you'll make ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I also think the fabrics part is the most interesting one!
DeleteQue gusto! cheverisimo!!!
ReplyDeleteGracias!! Veremos a donde me lleva esta clase!
DeleteSon bellos y practicos!!!! hechos con tan buen gusto!!!! Las tijeras siempre estaran limpias, protegidas. Asi
ReplyDeleteestan a buen resguardo cuando las lleves a algun sitio. Y tus manos y las cositas que cargas... JM!!! y de las telas ni hablar............
I have some of the same Petit Pan fabrics. They are so beautiful! And I'm slightly scared to use them because they're so nice (and expensive!).
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished product...
Petit Pan is one of my favorites too, and I don't think I'll use them for my beginners quilt!
DeleteCalculating that all goes well, the finished product will be done in aprox. 3 months! For sure I'll show it!
