I mentioned before that my older son and husband went to the Terror House, but as that does not appeal to me one bit, I decided to give the very small and wonderful Posta Museum a chance. Boy was I in for a wonderful surprise.
Since I had never been to a post office museum before and also the mailboxes that are spread out around the city were so incredibly beautiful, it made me curious so see what the museum would be like.
It was well worth the walk from the Terror House (only 10 minutes). To be able to see all the artifacts concerning the post office (from uniforms, vehicles, mailboxes, etc...) so well curated and preserved was really especial. As I said, I never seen any post office paraphernalia so I was like a kid in a candy store. It was really one of the highlights of my trip to Budapest.

I couldn't just leave empty handed, not with stamps looking like that! |

The beautiful mailbox that is almost everywhere. Isn't it a beauty?? |
Note: Some of the pictures are blurry due to the fact that I was running around with my little one, telling him not to "touch that object which is more than 100 years old," or "don't get on that bike," it is not for your use, or "don't put your mouse inside that box," etc... !!
Not a place for little kids for sure. It is really small and the stroller is not allowed (which is what I usually use to keep my "energetic" kid from running around in museums).
Have you ever visited any post office museums?? Are there any that you wouldn't mind recommending to me?
Wishing you a most wonderful weekend.
